Recent News Items
- Simon Knight was awarded a MCh with distinction from the University of Cambridge for his thesis entitled "Optimisation of immunosuppressive Drug Therapy in Transplant Recipients". He was also awarded the Sir Walter Landon-Brown prize.
- The second Evidence in Transplantation (EVIT) Course will be held March 12-13, 2010. This ESOT course is organised by the Centre for Evidence in Transplantation and the Clinical Effectiveness Unit, The Royal College of Surgeons of England - London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
- Peter Morris was made an Honorary Member of the European Society of Organ Transplantation (ESOT) at the opening ceremony of the ESOT congress in Paris.
- The CET had its own stand at the ESOT congress in Paris (August 2009). Computers were available for live demonstrations of the Transplant Library. There was also information on the other activities of the CET.
- The following abstract was presented at the ESOT meeting in Paris (August 2009):

- The Transplant Library is available to members of ESOT through the ESOT website.
- The Transplant Library is now available to Medical School libraries in England with an associated Transplant Unit.
- Simon Knight was awarded the Medawar Medal for his presentation at the recent British Transplant Society Meeting in Liverpool. His presentation was entitled "Steroid withdrawal following renal transplantation increases the risk of acute rejection but improves cardiovascular risk factors: a meta-analysis"
- 6th Edition of Kidney Transplantation: Principles and Practice has now been published. The 1st edition was published by Peter Morris in 1978 and the 30 years cover virtually a history of renal transplantation.
