Sarah obtained a first class honours in Biomedical Science in 2016 before completing an MSc in Cardiovascular Research at King’s College London where she achieved a pass with distinction. She is currently completing her medical degree at Keele University.

Sarah has a specific interest in the development of novel therapeutic, diagnostic and preventative strategies for patients through application of this research by evidence based medicine. She therefore decided to join the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS) as a Research Associate where she is responsible for identifying, critically appraising and analysing evidence from randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines in transplantation for the Transplant Library and Transplant Trial Watch. Her role also includes writing systematic reviews and meta-analyses for the NDS, as well as helping students and other members of staff in the production of publications by the department.

The Transplant Library was developed by the Centre for Evidence in Transplantation (CET) and includes all randomised controlled trials, clinical practice guidelines and selected, good quality systematic reviews in solid organ transplantation. It was designed to provide easy and quick access to high quality evidence based information on all aspects of organ transplantation. The Transplant Library is now the most used online information resource in organ transplantation and has been endorsed by leading national and international transplant societies. The Transplant Trial Watch is a monthly overview of 10 new trials including a summary and methodological commentary that is distributed to over 22,000 clinical professionals, worldwide. Her research in the department, therefore, contributes to the evidence-based practice by medical professionals in transplantation, internationally.
