On the 20th September we had our regular meeting in the Richard Doll Building in Oxford. It was a very good day in that John O’Callaghan reviewed his current work on a systematic review of liver preservation solutions together with a multivariate analysis of 4,500 kidney transplants from the NHSBT registry. Robin Som reviewed his work on statins in cardiac transplantation while Liang Liu presented her protocol for a proposed study of looking at the evidence related to once daily tacrolimus versus twice daily tacrolimus. Simon Knight reviewed Philip Macklin’s work on Rituximab in renal transplantation. After lunch Liset Pengel presented the ongoing state of the study dealing with the rate of publications of conference abstracts of randomised clinical trials, while Nish Talawila presented her dissertation project for her MSc on Outcomes of Acute Rejection. Finally Nish demonstrated some of the aspects of the Transplant Library and finally Simon Knight reviewed the website, particularly with respect to blogs and the Transplant Trial Watch.

It was a very enjoyable day and also very informative.
