AID-KT Stakeholder Workshop

Date/Time: Monday 26th January 2026, 10am-2:30pm
Venue: The Exchange, 3 Centenary Sq, Birmingham B1 2DR
We are planning a workshop to bring together clinicians, patients and other stakeholders with an interest in kidney transplantation to explore how we can use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support clinical decision making around organ offers. The workshop is part of a larger project, AID-KT, that aims to design and test a clinical decision aid in UK transplant centres. We would like to see if AI-based decision support can improve the use of organs and outcomes for patients. For more information, click here.
We would like to invite the following groups to participate in the workshop:
- Healthcare professionals involved in kidney transplantation at all levels
- Transplant patients (on the waiting list or previously transplanted)
- Public participants with an interest in kidney transplantation
- Other stakeholders and policymakers with an interest in kidney transplant
During the workshop, we would like you to help us to understand the following:
- What additional information would be useful when considering kidney offers?
- How can AI help us to provide this information?
- What are the best ways of displaying and communicating AI predictions?
- What are the barriers to using AI for making transplant decisions?
Travel costs of up to £80 per person (with supporting receipts) are available to support attendance. We are unable to reimburse plane tickets. Patient participants may also claim an additional payment of £125 for their time.
If you are interested in taking part, please fill out this brief form and we will be in touch.
